‘Noroviruses subvert the core stress granule component G3BP1 to promote viral VPg-dependent translation’ is now published in eLife. Well done to joint first authors Myra, Luca and Michael. The paper identifies the cellular protein G3BP1 as important for viral replication and in particular VPg-dependent translation through a variety of approaches including mass spectrometry-based immunoprecipitation, CRISPR screens, and functional assays to determine the impact of G3BP on viral translation.
