The team in summer 2022

With the lab having just turned in November 3, in the last couple of months we have had to say goodbye (and congratulations!) to Georgia and Sophie for successfully completing their MSc and MRes degrees! They also generated some brilliant data which will be making its way into papers in the near future.

We have also welcomed several new lab members! Dr Leandro Neves has joined the lab as an MRC-funded postdoc investigating cellular substrates of viral proteases. We have also been joined by Dan Conlon and Samruddhi Sanjay Pathak who are conducting their MRes/MSc research in the lab over the next year on norovirus replication, and Haruni Shekimweri who is conducting his final-year BSc project in the lab on cellular substrates of endemic human coronaviruses. Jess Coomber has also started her Pirbright-Liverpool PhD studentship on Zika virus proteomics initially based at Pirbright and co-supervised by Dr Trevor Sweeney, and will move from Pirbright to Liverpool around October 2023. In Jan we will be welcoming Charlie Duncan who is starting an industry-funded part-time PhD in clinical proteomics, and will be co-supervised by Dr Anna Smielewska from Liverpool Clinical Laboratories. Lots to look forward to in the next year!
