Our previously advertised ‘funded’ studentship with the Pirbright Institute on flavivirus proteolysis has a revised deadline – 12th June 2022! See here for details.

We also have a new ‘unfunded’ studentship available in the area of viral diagnostics/clinical proteomics. This is a collaboration between the Emmott lab, Dr Anna Smielewska (Liverpool Clinical Laboratories), Prof. Paul McNamara (Alder Hey Childrens Hospital) and Dr Jordan Skittrall (University of Cambridge).

In this project you will develop and test assays to monitor viral protein abundance/degradation within clinical samples as a means to assess viral infectivity. You will have access to a patient biobank of over 3000 respiratory virus samples, and the supervisory team includes clinicians with day-to-day experience of working viral diagnostics. For full details see the findaphd advert here.
